Predictive Analytics, Emerging Trends and Future of State Governance

Abstract

 It is clear that the world of Artificial intelligence (AI) and data analysis (DA) is in a dynamic state of change. Many government agencies use predictive analytics to provide more efficient responses to community needs and are now equipped with a large amount of data. More data arrive from various sources, while citizens expect higher quality and faster service delivery at the state and local levels. This paper argues that the use of technologies such as DA, AI, algorithmic decisionmaking for policy-making and public administration, provides both advantages and challenges. Possible benefits include more efficient and convenient delivery of public services and better-informed policy formulation through predictive analytics, policy simulation and real-time early warning systems. The challenges include the autonomy of citizens and officials, the accountability of the algorithmic system and privacy. We believe that the future requires a balanced approach where innovation is combined with ethical data practices. However, by strengthening governance, adopting committed leadership, focusing on talent recruitment and development, and implementing new management practices, governments can continue to scale up the use of predictive analytics.
